Hi everyone, My wife is looking for a DL MS/MA in marketing, but with either a concentration in e-marketing or the entire focus on e-marketing. We've done some searching but have come up empty. You'd think this would be offered online everywhere considering most universities use e-Marketing to get students! Anyways, we're in Maryland and she has a BS in marketing from UM College Park. We'd prefer a RA non-profit under $20k, but we'll look at anything if the academics and price are agreeable. She was attending JHU's MA in communications program, but the focus was too general and the cost/commute too much, so something DL, cheaper, and more specialized is welcome. Thanks in advance!
Not quite what you're looking for but I had this "Certificate in eMarketing" bookmarked so I thought I'd post it anyways: Certificate in eMarketing - University of Virginia A similar cert available from Griffith University (AUS): Graduate Certificate in eMarketing - Griffith University I did find this program, but it doesn't seem like it's available online? (Ironic for a program that focuses on online marketing!): Master of Digital Marketing - Hult International Business School
Perhaps this area is evolving so rapidly that what one learned in the first course is outdated by the last course. My suggestion is take a basic MS/MBA with perhaps one or two courses in e-marketing (it could be a thesis topic or a transfer in course(s)).
I was going to mention that UVA cert, but it is more expensive per credit for out of state students than the MA communications degree at Johns Hopkins the OP's wife was taking. It would be a good deal if they lived in Virginia, though. maybe UVA will grant in-state tuition since they are in a neighboring state?
Full Sail University, which is not RA, is the one school that I know of that offers an Internet Marketing master's degree. Many others like Florida Institute of Tech offer a specialization in their MBA program, while the University of San Francisco offer an advance certificate in internet marketing. Frankly, e-marketing is a very narrow field that could be easily covered in a few graduate courses. I think this is partly why few RA schools offer it as a specializations rather than as a full program with limited demand. I guess Google has made online marketing easy enough....
I appreciate everyone's feedback. I'm sure you guys are right about this field being very narrow, which is probably why there are not many programs dedicated to it. She isn't interested in a MBA, but it looks like she'll have to go with a MA/MS in marketing or communications that has a focus in e-marketing.
We found this and it seems promising: Professional Certificate in Digital Media Marketing | New York University - SCPS Anybody have any experience with courses like these from NYU? She's going to contact the school and ask directly, but I'm just curious if anyone here has taken online courses with NYU's School of Continuing and Professional Studies before and how your experience was. Thanks!
Hello I encourage you to have a look at Middlesex University in London. There is a MA on e-Marketing & Social Media. e-Marketing and Social Media EM
MA e-Marketing & Social Media / Middlesex University in London Please check the following link for more information: e-Marketing Overview EM
Liberty University has a MS-Marketing that is fairly new. There is a concentration in Digital Marketing & Advertising. This is a 36 credit degree. That equates to $18,720 in tuition. As long as she is ok with integrating a Christian world view into the courses, this meets all of your stated requirements. Liberty also extends a tuition discount to all military veterans and their spouses making tuition $250/credit. That would take the cost of this degree down to $9,000. My wife begins classes in this program on Monday, though a different concentration. This will be her second Masters from Liberty. If interested, I can keep you posted on how it's going for her. I wish you both the best of luck in finding the perfect program!
