As am I, lucky to have him as a friend. The HMU and UNISA sagas and distance learning in general. :)

Knowing Dr. Lady personally, he would blush and tell you to just call him "Dave". However, because of my martial arts background, I prefer to used formal titles when someone has earned it. For me it is a sign of respect.

I just hope he doesn't prefer "Dr. Dave." I hate when people use their first names in combination with the Dr. salutation. Drives me nuts! It's usually the chiropractors (not that I have anything against them in general, except for this habit - oh, and the lack of anything even remotely considered EBM). But I digress. :D

I told my wife and kids they were going to have to call me Dr. someday (a long way off) I going to be a, you know what for the first few months just to mess with people. My next door neighbor is a MD so I really plan on seeing him outside and going "Doctor" to see if he will say "Doctor" back. Oh, I want to learn stuff too.

MO, if you want a D.B.S. their is a guy on DI that will just email you one. I did it to see what it looked like, so I guess I am already a Dotor...lol

Just returning to the original thread for a moment...for me, the co$t factor has always been a major consideration, as well as the quality and utility of the degree itself. So in the end, it's not whether it's "cheap enough" as opossed to whether it has value based on what I need and also what I can afford.

The Ed.D program offered by AspenU meets all of my personal criteria and I'm very excited about getting underway; I'm taking the initial admissions examination tomorrow at high noon (EST) so wish me luck!

I'm looking forward to being an "Avalanche!"

    Well at my institution,

I go by Dr. Shawn, our other PhD faculty goes by Dr. Deb, and the academic dean goes by Dr. Sue.

No one there goes by Dr. Pink? You could start a band "Reservoir Doctors" and play for the USO.

What are you thinking man???!!! Haha, just kidding. It's not that serious! Just a little pet peeve of mine. Alas, I am a long way off from anyone calling me "Dr. Tom" (Yuck!). :D

I received a "perfect score" on my entrance exam and thus have been accepted into the program! Now all I have to do is submit 3-letters of reference, and oh yes - the initial tuition payment! :D

Well it's official - my enrollment towards the Ed.D has been paid and I start my first course on Sept. 16th. For me, the lower than low cost was the deciding factor so in essence Aspen U made me an offer I couldn't refuse!
