TESC will accept the transcript directly from NFA. I would also send a copy to ACE for transcription, just for "safe keeping."

Cool thanks! I printed out a few copies so I'll just fill another one out and send it to ACE too.

    NFA Transcript

I hope you are getting a copy regularly of your transcript to check it for errors. I have found courses left off my transcript from the NFA. Every couple of courses I send for a copy of the transcript. I sent for another one a few days ago.

It usually takes me at least a month or more to get one.

They have a very small staff in admissions. I was in the office today as a matter of fact. They must deal with scheduling of thousanfds of students for resident course, so the transcript requests get handled as they are able. They are in the process now of preparing for 2nd semester FY 2008 course applications, so they are busy.

Really??? The FEMA transcripts usually arrive in about 2 or 3 days. Are they not handled by the same office?

No - they are not the same office. They are both on the NETC campus, but the NFA section handles the NFA admissions, which make up the majority of the resident courses at the NETC. EMI has also gotten transcript process up electronically, the NFA still uses paper requests and transcripts printed out manually. You will see the difference when you get your NFA transcript.

How do you get transcripts from the Q courses? I called the NFA and was told they do not offer transcripts for Q courses. I would have to print the certificate out and present it to my university.

What steps are required to have TESC accept / acknowledge the NFA course credits?

The 'official' transcript request has been faxed 3 times and responded to 0 times.

    Confused ... Help ...

The National Fire Academy Independent Study Program has made changes.

    NFA Online
    http://www.nfaonline.dhs.gov

There have been two NFA Independent Study Websites

    1)Old Course Website
If you completed courses under the old NFA website you can use the transcript request form to get a transcript of your courses. It will not be updated with courses completed from the new website. Certificates were mailed in the past and transcripts are still mailed.

    NFA Transcript Request
    http://www.geocities.com/vajoewebsite/USFireTranscriptRequest.pdf

    * If you use this transcript request and have only completed courses on the new/current website, you will have no records to be found.

    2) New/Current Website
If you complete courses on the new/current NFA website you can get an online certificate and an online reported generated online of course completed on the new website.

Official transcripts are not issued for completing courses from the new website. Courses completed on the old website will not appear as completed on the new website. The reports that generate on the new website do not include courses from the old website.

If you need an official transcript and cannot get one for courses from the new website, I would suggest doing one of the following:

    1. Send a copy of your certificates and a copy of the online course completed report to your college, along with a print out from the American Council on Education website showing the courses have been recommended for credit.

    2. Send a copy of your certificates and a copy of the online course completed report to your college, along with a print out from the American Council on Education website showing the courses have been recommended for credit. Have the certificates and reports stamped by a notary public. I have had colleges accept documents that simply have been stamped by a notary public, when they would not accept them without the stamp.

    3. Get an American Council on Education account (costs) and send the certificates to them for placement on their transcript. Then send the ACE transcript to the college.

ACE only gives credit for Q118 and Q318. Thomas Edison State College has also be giving credit for Q534.

Really? I have a transcript for the 2 Q's I took. In fact, I was just recently sent a duplicate transcript from them within the last 3-4 months.
