My aunt asked for my advice about a distance M.Ed., in Reading Education. I searched the forum but the keyword "reading" results in hundreds of threads which don't apply. Can anybody help? It would need to be RA, inexpensive and completely at a distance because she's got two youngsters at home; one with autism. BTW, she has a Bachelors degree in Archeology and is hoping to launch a second career. Thanks for your help! vanadoo
Hopefully one of these can meet your aunt's needs. Benedictine University www.onlinedegrees-benedictine.com Central Michigan University www.cmich.edu Concordia University Wisconsin www.cuw.edu George Fox University www.georgefox.edu Governors State University www.govst.edu Grand Canyon University www.gcu.edu Liberty University www.liberty.edu University of Massachusetts Lowell www.umassonline.net Nova Southeastern University www.nova.edu Regis University www.regis.edu University of Texas Arlington www.telecampus.utsystem.edu Texas Wesleyan University www.texwesleyan.edu Walden University www.waldenu.edu BTW - Since your aunt has a youngster with autism, has she considered the online M.Ed. in Autism from the University of Louisville www.louisville.edu ?
Penn State University offers a Master of Education, with concentrations in adult education, curriculum and instruction-children’s literature, curriculum and instruction-teacher leadership, earth science, and instructional systems-educational technology. Here's a direct link to their Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction—Children's Literature ("Help Children Discover the Joys of Reading"): Penn State Also, I'm not sure if they have reading-specific programs, but these universities also offer M.Ed degrees online: Brenau University Dallas Baptist University East Carolina University Northern Arizona University
Hi, Here is an option for your Aunt, if she decides to pursue a graduate degree in Anthropology: University of North Texas - MA/MS in Applied Anthropology http://www.unt.edu/anthropology/onlinemasters/index.html - Tom
I'm going to research these schools over the weekend. I can't thank you enough ... you've saved me hours of googling
Don't know how I missed this, but from the great State of Kansas, both Emporia State University www.emporia.edu and Fort Hays State University www.fhsu.edu offer master's degrees in reading at a distance.
Funny I should have missed this one, but my beloved alma mater City University of Seattle www.cityu.edu offers an MEd in Reading online.
How about the Western New Mexico University MA http://www.wnmu.edu/VirtualCampus/InterdisciplinaryMasters.htm You could combine reading with areas such as english and/or education. Low cost if you stick to two courses per semester.
Georgia State My alma mater (and now my tuition money goes there too! I have an almost junior living in the dorms in the heart of downtown Atlanta!)
