I wondered how long it would take you to post, Rich. I knew the condition (er, addiction) would get the best of you. :D

I tried to quit "cold turkey," but you know the recidivism rate is extremely high. Ask Lewchuck.

I am certainly not addicted to degreeinfo, it's just that the degreeinfo icon is on my desktop and I have to click on it every day (at least once a day).

    Cheers!

Kind of like compulsive hand-washing? Me too. I can't stop clicking on the icon. ;)

    Two terms come to mind:

    1. Denial: "I am certainly not addicted."
    2. Transference: "The degreeinfo icon made me do it."

Not to worry, Peter. Help is available. :D

Icon? What icon? I didn’t put an icon on my desktop! I feel left behind, I have to put an icon on my desktop now! Oh but my hands are shaking so badly. I need my icon on my desktop so I will fit in and have instant access to the forum……no I am not addicted to degreeinfo.com. Not me, never. :D

    10 months later

It's been ten months since the last post on this thread. Perhaps resuming the weekly therapy sessions is in order.

Hello, my name is John Doe, and I am a DegreeInfo Addict.

To which the massive group, in singular order, responds:

    Hello John.
    Hello John.
    Hello John.
    Hello John.
    Hello John.
    Hello John.
    Hello John.
etc, etc, etc .........ad infinitum. ;)

For all of the addicts: Please send me $100.00, cash and US currency, and I will absolve you of your addiction. For an extra $25.00 you get a prayer cloth and for another $50.00 a genuine ordination certificate..........

I am a new member, started about two months ago, yes this site is addicting. The school's don't provide this type of information, as well as they do not welcome the debate that is healthy (for the most part) :D on this site.

I say keep this site legal, or ignorance will be the only alternative.

I don't know about this book, or I hate to say the authors (sorry, I am new), but with the resounding support of this group, I will purchase and see what it is all about.

So far, I have logged onto degreeinfo in these circumstances:

1.) I have stopped at a library that I have never been to before, entered and logged on only to check the latest post.
2.) When people see me all they ask now is, "so--what's new in the world of distance learning?"
3.) I spent a half hour at a family member's computer, just trying to crack his password to log in.
4.) When I substitute teach, all i can tell the kids about are CLEP exams, GRE exams, and the like.
5.) I logged on during one of our thanksgiving dinners.

if only i could become a dealer! ;)

This isn't an addiction, it's a sacrifice. I named my computer Moloch, too.

    Degreeinfo.com helps Adult Children

I find myself logging in to get a little inspiration to determine what I want to be when I grow up.

    I still haven't figured it out... :D
