AFAIK, there is no residency requirement for UNO, but you might need to poke around their website and make sure.

I'm not seeking my degree through UNO, I've just taken a few classes at LSU IS.

Try Http://www.cuny.edu. The city university of new york offers BA degrees completely online throughout its university system, and all at the CUNY tuition rate (Which is VERY Afordable!)

    HikaruBr,

Check out Peru State College. This school is located in Nebraska (USA). Peru is regionally accredited, and they offer an online BS in Business Administration. Tuition is only $130/credit hour (or $390 for a 3 credit course) for all online students.

    Good luck!

Mountain State (formerly College of West Virginia) in Beckley, WV is not a state school.

Just an example that having the word "state" in the name doesn't always mean it's run by the state. :p We visited there before we moved to Myrtle Beach SC - Mountain State was among our final choices but we found that you can't get anywhere there without walking uphill both ways in the snow.

Thanks for the correction. The combination of "State" and the decidedly public-like $200/credit hour tuition had me fooled.

I didn't mean my post to diminish Mountain State as an option - they do have a pretty reasonable reputation out in the world.

Their name is based on the nickname of the state though so it's Mountain State University as opposed to Mountain State University.

    Hi Ryan:

What did you think of the format/delivery of the classes at LSU? Pretty straight forward? I know LSU has a Bachelor of General Studies degree that is 100% distance, and the tuition can't be beat. It still amazes me that they still only charge $220.00 for a 3 credit class.

    Have a good one!

I would wager that relatively few "state" universities have fully distance based BA programs, if the original criteria is still of any relevance.

I thought the format was as goos as if not better than other schools I've attended. It is VERY reliant upon your will to complete the class, as there are no timelines beyond the nine-month completion date. If you are not self-driven, it will be difficult to complete.

Basically, they send you the student handout. You order your books and begin. Each class consists of 12-20 lessons, with each lesson broken down into an intro, a reading assignment, and a lesson assignment. You read the assignment, do the assignment, and send it in via email or snail mail.

Overall, I enjoyed them, except for the lack of interaction with other students.

Thanks, that sound very much like the DL courses at The University of Iowa. You can complete the course in 9 months, but can take an additional 3 months if necessary.

I was interested in this train of thought, but then found at http://admissions.uno.edu/collcredit/collcredit2.cfm:

"You should not count on being permitted to use more than 30 semester hours of any combination of CLEP, bypass, advanced standing, non-traditional or military credit toward your degree."

In other words, that's a residency requirement. Darn! I was hoping we could add to the big 3 (or 4)! :)
