Got a call today from someone at Franklin Consulting Group (sorry . . .I don't have a web address). They guarantee securing a government grant of at least $5000 within two months, or your money back. The "money back" is the $369 upfront cost. Anyone know about this place? basrsu
I can't even describe how much that sounds like a scam to me. If there were an easy way to get five thousand dollars from government, why wouldn't everyone be doing it? -=Steve=
Looks like a scam. 1. Their domain name was created in October 2006. 2. Their money-back guarantee on the website says if you haven't received $5000 in grants in 6 months, they will refund your money. The catch is, you must have at least 3 rejection letters. It definitely looks suspicious. If a couple of people can get 10,000 suckers to send them $369 over a six-month period. They provide some scant advise on how to apply for some grants and then 6 to 7 months after starting, they disappear with approximately $3 million in profits.
This sounds a lot like the old World Education Access scam which is probably in the DegreeINfo archives. Basically a Ponzi scheme, the first few people get their grants from the money paid by later people, the first people then give glowing testimonials, causing more people to fork over money, and eventually the company disappears with money in tow. DegreeInfo regulars helped get WEA shut down by providing information to the Ohio attorney general's office about the scam.
