Ok - this is for a friend of mine, he's looking for a HRM Cert (post-grad) that is reasonably priced and from an RA school. Thanks! BM
I recommend that your friend go to www.shrm.org - which is the website for the Society of Human Resource Management first. They have a list of schools that offer HR degrees and certificates. What your friend wants to focus on in HR is receiving certifications from SHRM (they have several). While a grad degree in HR from a RA school is nice - in HR, SHRM certification is a gold standard, and the ideal combination would be the RA degree AND SHRM certification. Shawn
_Peterson's Guide to Distance Learning Programs_ lists a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management from Stevens Institute of Technology www.stevens.edu .
Fort Hays State University offers an HR Grad Certificate http://www.fhsu.edu/virtualcollege/degrees/certificate/hrm/index.htm
WOLI offers HR Certificate You might want to check out Washington Online Learning Institute. www.WOLI.com They offer a 16-week HR certificate program. They are RA. I think the program will be offered again in Feb. or March. Good luck.
A better alternative is Peru State College. They offer an HR Certificate at the undergraduate level. http://www.peru.edu/Certificates/CourseDescriptions/HumanResourcesManagement.htm
Columbia Southern University www.colsouth.edu offers both the Advanced Undergraduate Certificate in Human Resource Management and the Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management.
- American Public University or American Military University offers a graduate certificate in organizational management and a undergrad cert in HR. http://www.apus.edu/APUS/Academics/certificates.htm - Lets not forget the venerable Cornell University. They offer a non-credit HR Certificate http://www.ecornell.com/catalog/hr/ - The University of California at Berkeley offers a Certificate in Project Management. The courses are at the undergraduate level. In a transfer agreement, The University of Wisconsin-Platteville will accept Berkeley's project management courses and award 12 graduate credits. These credits will be applied to UW-Platteville's Master of Science in Project Management. http://www.uwplatt.edu/disted/pdfs/berkeley.pdf http://explore.berkeley.edu/UCExt/certificateprog.asp?action=Internet
The University of Virginia offers a Certificate in Human Resources Management. Not cheap though. http://uvace.virginia.edu/certificates/humanresources.php
CSU a good find. 15 graduate level courses may transfer to a masters program at APUS. http://www.apu.apus.edu/Transfer-Credit/TCECreditsAccepted.htm
Cornell's Online HR cert is highly regarded in HR circles. As Capella Rocks pointed out, the SHRM certifications are the gold standard. I believe the Cornell program is geared to prepare you for SRHM certification.
HR Certification Test Do you know if the HR Certification Exam may be taken online or are the exams proctored at an approved site?
