Hi... I was wondering if anyone here have experience with Grenoble's DBA program. I am currently in the application process and would appreciate just about any information about this program, as well as any advice, suggestions, etc... Thanks in advance. Ahuang P.S.-- Thank you Gregg for your help in fixing my account!
Which DBA are you applying to? The Newcastle or Tongji program? Neither of these programs are DL; residencies are required. Grenoble is among the best business schools in Europe. The Financial Times ranked Grenoble #15 in Europe.
I agree. I don't know that much about Grenoble as you do, but I read that they are one of the few schools in the world with AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS accreditation. This triple accreditation makes them one of the most distinguished business schools in the world.
I agree. As I understand it from a friend in B school, AACSB is better recognized in the US but EQUIS is well known internationally. Getting both seems like a can't lose proposition. -=Steve=-
I am applying for the Tongji program. Neither Tongji nor New Castle programs are totally DL, a few trips are required for week-long classes. The Tongji program has a 10-day session in Grenoble at the beginning of the program (in the Fall), and a few shorter sessions in Shanghai, China (hosted by Tongji University) in the following Spring. At this point I was told that the schedule for those sessions in Shanghai in Spring 2007 is not finalized yet, but I expect that at least one session will be in the first week of May during the May Day holiday season there. By the way, Tongji University is one of the best technology schools in China and has a tradition of close academic relationships to European (especially German) universities. Thanks. ahuang
Ahuang, An old classmate of mine--"Denver"--was pursuing a DBA via Grenoble. Perhaps if you PM him he may have some useful information for you. Good luck
Grenoble is triple-accredited: AACSB - American & International EQUIS - European & International AMBA - British & European
Fantastic. Grenoble is a top French school and Tongji is an excellent Chinese school. A DBA from this joint program is the international equivalent of a Harvard Business School degree.
No, they are not. Both programs are designed as multiple short/intense residential programs with supervised external research.
I did have the same doubts with Tongji, on whether it could match up with TsingHua, Fudan, or even CEIBS. Tongji is a good school, but under my impression it still has some distance from the best schools in China.
