There are quite a fe here that have done online MBA's. What are you looking to get from your MBA? What is it meant to accomplish for you? Those answers are important. If it's important to your career to attend a school that has name recognition in your area, do so. If not, UMUC, Amberton, Liberty, Fort Hays, and about a zillion other RA schools offer online MBA programs. If it's strictly for self enrichment, maybe look into an NA school like Ashworth that is less expensive.

    Good luck.

Last time I counted, there were something like 304 distance learning MBA programs with legitimate accreditation. Does your friend have in mind a particular major? Something else that might pare down the list?

I think it is better you should do it from top and good colleges. E.g. you can consider doing it from Thunderbird laureate partnership schools as they are recognized throughout world and offer good education.
