I have been looking at http://www.centuryuniversity.edu during the week and this nonwonderful seems has disappeared from the web. Is there any news here?
You mean the website itself? One can always hope, but no, I just tried and had no problems accessing it. Bruce
I still don't see it. I get the following on the screen: Worldwide Webs Inc. is a full-service web site design and marketing company offering complete Internet commerce solutions for businesses, organizations and individuals. Our full range of website design and marketing services include project development, site management, site maintenance, training, and technical assistance. I have tried both Internet Explorer and Netscape, and hit "Refresh" or "Reload" to override cache. I see another Worldwide Webs page at http://www.centuryuniversity.edu/main.htm It may be that our local firewall is blocking some kind of active content (what a thought -- a nonwonderful filter!) or Worldwide Webs have been updating the site and I've just caught it at a bad (good?) time.
I did a WHOIS search and the domain record was last updated on 16 January 2002. So in all likelihood, Century simply changed its internet host and the resulting DNS change hasn't yet propagated everywhere. I was hoping that there might be something interesting here. Too bad...
Strange...just to be sure I cleared my cache & history, still got it with no problem. However, the .com address got me to a World Wide Webs Inc. page. Bruce
I can get it too now. Though some parts of the site are still not there (e.g. Computer Science area).
Surprise to see that they never mention anymore about accreditation like they used to do about 10 years ago.
Watchdog point out that Century does not mention their worthless accreditation on their website. Is it possible that they have dropped it? Has anyone checked their catalog, or asked them? I note that it is still the case that about a third of their faculty have a Century degree as their highest degree. And I also note that their Master's program requires "a four year Bachelor's degree" for admission. Do you suppose this means they don't accept their own Bachelor's degree?
Well there was a wise comedian (Groucho Marx?) that once said, "I wouldn't want to be a member of any club that would let me in." I think it applies to this case very well.
As recently as a few months ago, you could download a .pdf version of the catalog, which had the fake accreditation claim. I sort of doubt they would print up a new catalog that quickly, but I've sent for a hard copy. I'll let everyone know. Bruce
Bruce, Are you seriously considering a Century degree program, or just wasting Century's advertising dollars by ordering a catalog which you never intend to use? Russell
