"Pay to play" political corruption is such a hallmark of Chicago politics that no one really tries to hide it. I do not excuse Rod Blagojevich, but in my years living in Illinois and working in Chicago, news of Mayor Daley, John Stroger (former President of the Cook County Board), Stroger's son Todd (the current Presdient who, like Daley, succeded his father into office), and many Chicago Aldermen engaging in these types of activities were commonplace. Whenever I would express my disgust at another $150,000 a year job going to some politician's in-law, the reponse was always the same "welcome to Chicago politics".

Many are shocked that Blagojevich can be so blatant, but such is the climate of corruption that emboldens these leaders and makes them believe they are bulletproof. Since they keep getting re-elected, I suppose that they are.

We'll see about my former Governor.

The Chicoms are not only roaming the streets, they own many of our US streets. The conservatives of the Chicago School have sold out the US economically to the Red Chinese.

The LAPD started the King Riots?

Answer, The National Guard commanded by a State Governor; not the US Military commanded by the President.

    -What is Goldblatt talking about?

This Professor Leland Milton Goldblatt is a shill and a troll. His signature block contains the logos for 8 unaccredited schools and the photo of Orville Redenbacher. Where is he a professor and what the hell is going on here?

Query this fraud's name in Google and you'll quickly understand as you view the results. His act is reminiscent of one "Isadore Weisberg" at the Google alt.education.distance group. Hate filled and full of crap with phony Hebrew phrases.

The conservatives at what Chicago school? In my four years in Chicago higher education, I sure did not see them :)

Milton Friedman's University of Chicago is referred to as the Chicago School. I am surprised you did not know that. With a distance degree you may of taught at a community college, junior college or the so called losers last chance college.

Maybe you are not into economics as most Republicans are not.

Fascinating, I guess that the emoticon was not an obvious enough clue that I was tyring to inject a bit of levity. You are correct that I am not an economics major, but I am familiar with Friedman, Stigler and the "Chicago School" of economics at UC. I do not have any distance degrees, but I oversee online degree programs at a university. I taught briefly for a community college, but have spend the bulk of my career as a university faculty and administrator.

If you had attended one of those accredited "losers last chance colleges," you would not be writing things like "you may of taught". Bad form, Reverend.

By the way, most of my Democrat and Republican colleagues are not "into economics"--except, of course, the economic professors :)

So you make 50-60K a year at State University. Big deal. I bet your children (or wife's kids) are REAL proud of you. Be careful of all that polyester and other flammable synthetic materials in your life. It could cause a big fire. When I pass you in my Roll Royce, wearing cashmere, on the way to my home in the prestigious (no vinyl siding allowed) non proletariat neighborhood. I might feel sorry for you for a short moment.

I assume you were in attendance (and bullied) in public schools, however later in life learned to intimidate others by correcting them and/ or using big words. You were a non jock which could not be a in law enforcement career because of physical limitations. Maybe frighted by gym class and all the cool kids that got the girls.

The best way to deal with a any troll but especially a rude troll is to ignore them.

Wrong. I am a dean at a private unviersity. I make a little more than that.

Yes they are, thank you. My wife and I have the same children.

    Thank you for the warning.

When you do, i'll be sure to wave back. Congratulations on your opulence.

I appreciate the sentiment, but it is unnecessary. I am quite happy.

    Attended, yes. Bullied, no.

I never saw the need. Kindness and professionalism has worked much better for me.

I did fine in sports. I worked for two law enforcement agencies in the 80s, but decided that instructional technology was more fun for me.

Actually, I got the best girl :)

Although I find the fictional character amusing, personal attacks are not allowed. I think the good professor will benefit from a week's vacation to think things over.
