between Walden University and Touro university

I have been searching for "a good"school for a phd programe in business. Between Walden and Touro which one is preferable ? Has Touro been "free" from their probatory issue. I found out that they are AASCB accredited and Walden is not. However they are not accepting applications for the PHD programe in Business now. Please I need advice .

What led you to believe Touro is AACSB accredited? It is not.

 

I don't think Touro is accredited by AACSB... at least not yet:

I just talked to an enrollment counselor and she told me they are AASCB accredited. That actually surprised me.

not AACSB. As a Touro alumn I would not recommend enrolling in their PHD program until they work out the accreditation issue. Use the time to check out your other options. This si not a decision to rush.

 

Just out of curiosity, why have you narrowed your choices between Walden and Touro? Have you considered others, like Capella, NSU, or Argosy?

I started at Walden before moving over to Capella. I think it's a good school, but the structure of the program wasn't a good fit for me -- it's much more on the UK model of research guided by a mentor. For most of the management tracks, the only courses you take are research methods. I prefer the American "traditional" model of courses, comps, and dissertation, so Capella fits me much better.

Something to consider -- which model is a better fit for you. If you prefer the research-based model, you might also want to look at some of the overseas offerings.

Touro University International is not currently accredited by AACSB and it may take them several years to attain it if they ever decide to seek it. I will advise you to also consider Nova's business programs. I understand that the (Nova's) business school may soon switch from DBA to PhD.

 

Touro is not AACSB-accredited.

I would prefer Walden over Touro, all things being equal. But they are not.

Please consider learning methodologies when considering distance learning schools. Some, like Touro, are totally online. Others, like Walden, provide a mix of online, independent study, and residencies.

I, too, think it is odd to see those two schools considered, but not to see Capella in that mix.

Consider, also, Nova Southeastern University.

The Fielding Graduate Institute offers a Ph.D. in Human and Organizational systems. They offer some flexibility in how the degree requirements are met.

 

I have just enrolled in Walden after months of researching. So far I am beyond pleased. They have been in constant contact with me and been very helpful in answering questions.

When I have emailed or called with a question, someone has contacted me within 24 hours.

I attended an informational session in Ga. and was very impressed. In Ga. 1500 Ga. school teachers are enrolled in theri Masters and PhD programs for educations.

So far, I highly recommend the school.
I start June 1. I just finsihed a free software and technology orientation that they recommend before actual classes start.
