Sign me up! But only if there will be a dealers room and if Shatner is going to show. I haven't seen every episode but, I'm willing to learn. Can we were our tassels?

I think we should do paint ball. Or a tomato war.

"RA only" versus "Unaccredited fine" versus the rest.

Yes, in Las Vegas please, so Elvis can remarry me again! No, seriously, I would be there with adequate advanced warning, no problem.

    Cheers,

I'm all for it and would definitely make a point of attending. It would be a fascinating exchange. We certainly would not have to worry about looking for a keynote speaker, since we have our very own Dr. John Bear to fill that role.

Would there be a "call for presentations"?

Shouldn't we hold it in Liberia.

Count me in I am there ( unless of course we really do have it in Liberia, I think my passport specifically excludes that country.)

We could of course invite the universities to send their representatives and they could give out free pens and tchotchkes like that. The mills could give Ph.D's. (go for the free pens if you have a government job.)

I think there should be a set agenda for the first part - speakers, like Dr. Bear, and others. Then discussion groups (sound familiar?) in break outs on certain subjects. degree mills, RA, National accreditation, professional accreditation.... etc.

While I would technically go most anywhere, we should make sure that it is in a place with cheap airfare. We might discover that Las Vegas is the cheapest no matter where you're coming from.

I prefer the one day of "business" and one day of fun model.

I love this idea. I think it would be great to meet everyone and have some face to face discusssions. I would vote for Vegas first, somewhere midwest second (DFW, St Louis) because of costs and travel. I like the idea of workshops, discussions and fun.

Sounds fun and informative, especially in Vegas. As Tom Nixon suggested, one day of business and another day of fun would probably strike the right balance.

    Inclusive or exclusive?

I assume members from the international community are eligible to attend? (You Americans are so insular at times, now if you were a real Empire, you would have grown out of assuming the world stops at your borders! It never stopped at our borders for Brits even when you were part of ours.)

    A work day sounds great.

TEXAS! I don't have a budget for traveling. Besides, we could have the meeting while we float down the Gladalupe on inner tubes. Probably need to make it BYOB as well :)

    Re: Inclusive or exclusive?

Point taken. However, since the vast majority of the regular/semi-regular/new posters here are from the U.S., it is not surprising that only U.S. locations were selected.

And, by the way, I suspect that we could make a list of countries that would have wished that it had stopped at your borders.

And if so, would the papers be peer reviewed?

Would papers written by St. Regis, Cal Coast, and similar graduates be reviewed by other holders or unaccredited degrees? I would have no objection to this - comedy appearances are often quite popular at conventions.

Speaking of comedy, could we have such luminary speakers as Maxine A. and Sheila D. (who could also teach us the macarena), not to mention my favorite of all time, John Scheel of ACI? Perhaps a seance to bring the spirit of the late Ray Chasse to the podium? And a legal workshop by Enrique?

Ah, the possibilities are endless . . .

I remember fondly the first (and, thus far, only) convocation of the Gang of Six, held in 1998 in Pittsburgh. I can assure y'all, the breakout sessions would not require much planning - everyone would be assured to be ROTFLYAO.
