Hello Ternahan, Your post about a minimum of 18 units in lit to qualify for teaching at the california community system interested me. I currently work in Japan but want to do community college work when I return home in a few years. I am agonizing about whether to continue with an Excelsior MA (my undergrad in English was UC) in Liberal Studies, or switch to a straight English MA. Since you have experience with this question I'd like your opinion. Is working as an adjunct easier in English/ESL if you have a straight English MA, or will MALS work do you think if there are enough lit units? Thanks for any info. Chiba-ken
