Hello all, I have done computer science engineering. After that i have done MA economics and willing to do Ph.D but I don't know which subject is good for Ph.D. Please advice me
It depends on your career goals and academic interests. If you see yourself working in tech, go for a Ph.D. in a related field. If you see yourself working in econ, go for a degree related to that field. Also, you could pursue a whole different field but I'd advise against that. You don't want to be a jack of all trades and master of none.
great question but due some financial problems or due to my education loan I am not able to do m.tech or something else. So I have done Economics form a university with my job continuity .
You're clear about having some substantial financial restrictions. This could possibly eliminate most of the options in the US. Do you have a subject preference?
Before you put a lot of times and money into a Doctor of Philosophy degree, you have to determine why do you need a Ph.D.? Having three letters after your name is not a good reason. Do you plan to seek full-time tenure track? If so, what area do you want to teach? The best subject should be what you are doing now for a living. Most of the Doctorate level does not teach you a new field, instead of helping you transforming a practitioner into a scholar through research in academic standards. You might take a look at Nova Southeastern University's Ph.D in Computer Science program. One of my Nova Southeastern University's classmate majored in Information System is now an Associate Professor at Georgetown University.
