Federal law is one person, meaning only one person has to give consent/be aware of the recording going on. State law depends on the state; Massachusetts is a two-party state, meaning both sides have to be aware of the recording. For that reason, police in Massachusetts call in a Federal agency when they need a wiretap or other clandestine recording action.

Surely getting a warrant to eavesdrop is an exception? Why not just do that rather than call in the Feds?

Secretly record someone, go to jail. Terminate life at its most innocent and defenseless moment, no biggie.

Like it or not, abortion is the law of the land. So unless it's overturned, it's not illegal. Abortions are about 1% of what PP does. The rest is providing medical care for low income people. Also, essential things like cancer screenings, mammograms, etc. etc.

    The Danger of edited videos

    Here is one example:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colorado_Springs_Planned_Parenthood_shooting

"On November 27, 2015, a mass shooting occurred in a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, Colorado, resulting in the deaths of three people and injuries to nine.[1][2] A police officer and two civilians were killed; five police officers and four civilians were injured.[3][4] After a standoff that lasted five hours,[1][5] police SWAT teams crashed armored vehicles into the lobby and the attacker surrendered.[6]"

"According to an unnamed senior law enforcement official, first quoted by NBC News, Dear gave a "rambling" interview after his arrest[27] in which he said at one point, "No more baby parts"[34]—a statement that has been seen as a reference to the Planned Parenthood 2015 undercover videos controversy."

I can't speak to other two-party states; it is possible to get a wiretap warrant in Massachusetts, but you have to jump through some serious hoops and satisfy a laundry list of requirements.

It's such a pain and so complicated that it's rarely used, the only time I can think of was during the investigations into Whitey Bulger. The local and state police didn't trust the FBI, so they managed to get a wiretap warrant through state court. Their suspicions about the FBI turned out to be completely supported (thank you Agents John Connolly and H. Paul Rico), and those recordings are the only ones that contain any incriminating information about the Bulger gang, since they weren't tipped off.

Almost any case that's serious enough for a wiretap would justify Federal involvement, so it's much easier to call in the FBI, DEA, ATF, or another Federal LE agency to obtain the warrant.

I don't understand. So if a girl or a guy edits their online dating profile pictures in order to look more attractive, show up on a date with a nutcase, nutcase attacks them....we should blame the edited photos (and not the person attacking)? Interesting.

Yeah, whatever. All I know is that video got some innocent people killed. Ah, those fun loving rascals. Very funny.

I'd like to point out they edited the videos for time.

Stop the wholesale slaughter of blacks! PP was started to murder blacks and that's what they do. Rubber meets the road right here. You care about the poor or you don't.

Isn't the house still investigating PP? I was under the impression that this was far from over and that they were looking deeper into these connections.

Never mind just googled this and found the report. Interesting reading, well I've only been skimming but....interesting to say the least.

471 pages of a federal document? Kudos to you, sir! I will say that the chapter headings sure look interesting!
