Has anyone participated in a doctoral colloquium with Capella? I'm coming up on Track 1 in Chicago this September and I would like to know what I am in for. My PhD program is in Education, Higher Education Leadership. Any reviews, opinions, stories, etc are welcome. I'm just looking for an idea of what to expect. Judging from the Colloquium Track guides that they publish in the iCampus portal, it seems that the colloquium are just a bunch of hand-holding and busy work...
Or it could be a time of reflection, gathering, networking, thinking, etc. Try practicing being open, allowing things to come to you instead of conjuring them. Don't worry about the scheduled work; it's not the point.
I agree with Dr. Douglas, I attended one in 2010. But I am not longer with Capella University. - Networking to know your classmates - Ask questions (come up with all the doubts you have) - Team work - It is fun...
I'm a Capella graduate - and I enjoyed all three tracks of colloquia. Rich said it best - great time to network, bounce your dissertation ideas off of people, etc. Good luck! Shawn
