Northcentral offers a good program with well-designed classes. The customer/student support is terrible. If you are happy working totally on your own, with little help from a professor, you should like it. I started in the PhD program for business there, but moved to another school because I did not like the service and lack of support. You also need to be careful to insure that Northcentral meets the requirements for licensure in your state.
You also have to consider whether or not you want to be excluded from one of the largest employers of psychologists if your goal is to practice. The VA is now requiring an APA-accredited degree and APA-accredited internship. https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/366462900
What is lcsw? If the Ph.D is not needed why go into debt for one you will have little to no use for? NCU is very expensive, and a Ph.D program is no walk in the park. But hey, what do I know? I only have lonely masters degrees.:sigh:
I have heard that Fielding Graduate University's PhD in Clinical Psychology is APA accredited and is delivered online. Really pricey though.
Sorry, dude. It's just that the Fielding experience and process is so different compared to online schools like Capella, Northcentral, and Trinity. There are distinctions that make a real difference. There's a reason why Fielding has held for decades the distinction Olof being the only APA-accredited DL school.
