Does not add up - released on Tuesday after being "rescued" Saturday after having gone two weeks without food, water, or sleep? The part that got me was that he did not want to leave cigarette butts in the woods - really? Sounds more like a "hey look at how interesting I am - buy the movie rights" comment than reality. After two weeks, the most serious environmentalist would not have the presence of mind for such things - he would have eaten those butts!
Well, if you had not pointed it out, I probably wouldn't have taken notice, but something did strike me as odd  His desired trek was to only be about a mile long, but after 3/4 miles, it starts to get dark... really?! When did he start, 8:00 pm? It doesn't take but 20 minutes (I'll give him 40 minutes just to be lenient, since he is older than me and it was a hike and not on flat ground) to walk a mile. Well, why would you start your hike so late in the day that it would get dark well before you finished?
Yeah, then he could hear his friend yelling his name, and he replies "Tomorrow?" Why would you spend the night in the woods in the freezing cold. So he friend just walks away and leave him out there? Doesn't make sense. The he has the presence of mind to carry around his butts? What the heck! That's just plain bizarre. Abner
