I need to take 2 keyboarding courses (totaling 6 credits). Do you know of any schools offering this On-line (and affordable)?
You remind me of High School during my freshman year. I was forced to take the keyboarding class, when I was able to type 78 Word-Per-Minute. My teacher was typing slower than me....after two weeks she recommended me to take different Computer class. Well, I don't think there is any school teaches keyboarding courses online. Nowadays, you know how to use the keyboard before using the computer. If you enroll online classes; they expect you to know basic computer usage. You might replace those courses with Office Technology courses (Excel, Access, Words, PowerPoint), and etc.
Yeah, I can already type just fine (70-80 wpm at 98-99% accuracy), but I'd like to teach a typing course and my state says to get the license endorsement, I just need 6 credits of keyboarding, specifically: 3 of which it says should focus on "mastery of the touch keyboarding skill" and the other 3 from "document formatting skills/word processing/computer applications," although I'm not sure how the later is considered a keyboarding class.
I'd recommend that you look at some DETC accredited schools because they are more oriented toward vocational courses, certs, degrees. DETC
Among many other subjects, I teach a few keyboarding classes and I can tell you that the above is critical. It wasn't as important before the advent of word processors, but now it's a "must know."
Am I understanding correctly, I'd need to travel to Ohio to complete the exams? Does anyone know of any completely On-line courses for keyboarding?
