It was two frames custom made. And the price included the matting. The frames at the university bookstore tend to run at a minimum of $150 before the matting and framing is done. I feel like it's a relatively small expense considering the work I put in to get those pieces of paper.

Also, really no interest in famine relief.

    Good to know.
Here's hoping you're never in need.

  3. AUTiger00,

What's the place that you went to? I am looking for a diploma frame and might check this place out.

I was being a smart ass because you're coming on a board that revolves around education and judging me for paying to have my diplomas framed.

Not that it is any of your business, but i give to select charities as well as tithe at my church. In regards to ever being in need, I'm pretty sure I won't be as I made proper life decisions.

Her name is Denise Mosimann and she owns a shop in Charleston called Frame Up. She's been in business for several decades. Check her shop out,it is in West Ashley.

    +1

Its none of his damn business. I'm spending that much on my AS alone to be framed.

  7. Ahhhh. The joy of checking the forum and seeing a "heated discussion" :argue: unfold. Warms my heart. Now mom and dad (aka the moderators) are going to come and remind us, “Kids play nice.”

    Thanks for the information AUTiger

    Kids, play nice.

My wife and I got nice frames for our master's degrees through the various alma mater bookstores. Our associate's and bachelor's are in much less expensive frames from Hobby Lobby.

Mine hang in my office (cultural expectation with my work section). My wife's hang over her scrapbooking desk.

Yeah it's a cultural thing, one in which we don't tell others how to spend their money. You must be one of those ultra smart people who think they know how to spend other people's money. Perhaps he would rather enjoy that $300 outlay as opposed to watching sink into a shit hole of progressiveness and guilt that is African famine. Here's some light reading for you:

Or how about foregoing your degree altogether and giving the entire amount you would have spent on it to famine relief?

I further suggest that you sell your computer and give up your internet access and donate that money to address world hunger.

I spent $9,900 on my Masters degree and you are spending $17,000?!!?!?!!!@#$%^!???
    Are you kidding me?!!??

How about you buy a diploma from a mil and spend that $17,000 feeding heathen's in a foreign land? Man, the greed from a person of God to actually spend money on a piece of paper while there are people in NEED. You come up with an excuse for this in your Apologetics curriculum yet?

I have a great interest in helping people in need and I give a decent amount of money each month. However, I want a really cool frame for my diplomas that I invested so much in and I will be spending the $300, or whatever it takes to get an awesome frame.

You've been asked once to cool off. You won't be asked again.

Oh man, I totally agree! You could make your own frame for half that price. In fact, who needs a frame? Just tape that sucker to the wall!

Um... I was just looking for a frame, not a fight.

    :hijacked:

Thanks to those who did offer suggestions!

And for the record, my frame for my BA was about $149.99. Well worth it in my opinion.

Well said and thank you for your service. Whatever happened to spending your money on what you want?

As I mentioned earlier, I just stuck some velcro on it. I use probably less than 10 cents worth to hang both my AA and my HS diploma.
