Hello, I have been looking around here and have seen many great openings.I have sent in for one or two of them . But just wanted to make a post and ask if anyone knew of these openings to let me know . I am really looking to get my feet water .
C'mon, work with me a tiny bit. Your MA is in what discipline? Are you licensed? You are involved with what specific PhD program?
If you are seeking to be a school counselor then you have to be licensed, as well as a private counselor. Have you tried the mental health field? Often you can find positions that do not require you to be licensed. Here in NC they have something called QP's (Qualified Professionals) and AQP's (Associate Qualified Professionals). The requirements to be a QP is 2 years of experience working in a type of counseling setting and a bachelors degree. Often you can get by the 2 years requirement if you have a bachelors and a masters in a human services field and if you had to do an internship, it depends on the agency that recommends you to the state as a QP. An AQP requires 1 year of experience. Also there are numerous case management and human services program management jobs that do not require licensure. Try looking also for human services fields.
As for the job search thingy, try monster.com Where I live there's a site called careerbuilder.com that is very popular. It seems to cover S. Carolina as well.
Sorry , I am not licensed. My MA is in Human Relations(counseling). Right now I am in a Health Psych program at Walden.
You can probably get on board with your local community mental health center while you work on your license (that's what I did). http://www.state.sc.us/dmh/boyle.htm
Depending on the laws in your state, you may not be eligible for licensure. If that is the case then the jobs open to you will be somewhat restricted.
I am applying to this school on Monday. I changed up my Resume a great deal, and added a section that highlighted my coursework . Now I just need to write a cover letter.
