    Why I left Northcentral University

When I looked at the big picture, I got fed up and disgusted because:
    • I sweated through undergraduate-statistics with a "B" at a private college. I then sweated through graduate-statistics at the state university with a “B” -- and then NCU would not accept those credits. But wait, it gets worse in a strangely pecular way...
    • 1) This one is suspicious: I did not have three, required, graduate-level business classes, but NCU waived them saying that my undergraduate-courses were equivalent to NCU's graduate-level courses, so I didn't have to take them at NCU.
    • 2) This raises a valid question: Why wasn’t my undergraduate-level statistics class from a private college and my graduate-level statistics class from the state university accepted by NCU? It just didn’t make any sense.
    • I didn't like NCU's teaching methodology. They simply handed me an 877 page statistics book and told me to answer the questions at the end of each chapter. Even UoP's teaching methodology surpasses NCU's by light years because you get required feedback on a weekly basis. At least you get what you pay for at the University of Phoenix, but the same can't be said about NCU.
    • I was allowed to ”listen in” on a telephonic oral defense for a dissertation at NCU and frankly, it was pitiful. Since no names are being used here, I am not breaking any confidence. However, whatever garbage they were feeding and teaching that PhD student clearly came out in her oral defense. Garbage In = Garbage Out.
I am glad to have gotten that monkey (NCU) off my back and I am extremely blessed to have left NCU before I got in too deep. :)

Me Again - sounds like your encounter with NCU was similar to mine. Answer selected questions from the end of chapters - this is doctoral level education - I must be missing something. I also "dropped out" of that program (Doctoral in Business) and do not have a favorable impression either. Good luck to you.

    You quit NCU also? Remarkable!!!

They issue a textbook and ask the student to answer a few questions in the back of the book; and they claim it is doctoral level studies? It is online shenanigans like that that are going to give online institutions a bad rap.

I don’t mean to sound cynical, but what the heck --> Is NCU a moneymaker? Yes. Is it a quality education? Caveat emptor!!! It will be interesting to see the longevity (or lack thereof) of NCU's RA status.

Me Again and GENO'S experiences at NCU contrast with feedback I received from two other students in the business doctoral program at NCU. They report that it is more intense and makes heavier academic demands than they expected. In addition, one of these individuals mentioned that that the doctoral process was difficult and quite demanding of her time.

I suppose that one's degree of expectations varies with one's level of being challenged, be it inverse or direct. I personally believe that being assigned questions at the end of a chapter is no way to conduct doctoral education and I feel at this level one should be able to express themselves through composition instead of looking up answers. Perhaps I am mistaken, I certainly have been wrong before.
