    This is not a thread about Hungary and refugees so I'm not going to hijack it. I'll opt out of this discussion by saying that the referendum in Hungary, in my opinion, wasn't really about whether Hungary should allow 1,294 (in accordance with the agreement) asylum seekers into the country or not. The government spent $40 million on the campaign because the main purpose isn't to keep refugees out, it's to keep Orbán in power. The more people are duped into believing their 'identity' is under threat - by 1,294 asylum seekers -, the less they focus on domestic problems like the deconstruction of democratic institutions. Now, the Népszabadság, one of the few indepent newspapers left in the country, has been bought by a company with links to Orbáns friends and it didn't take the new owner long to start firing people.

    Yeah, I'll agree with you there. The topic at hand is Trump's alleged lies; I've compared them to Clinton's proven lies, that rise to the level of a felony. Can't get more relevant than that.

    Please point out where in this thread that I've violated the TOS, and what specific part of the TOS that's been violated.

    Right; you've accused Trump of lying about all sorts of stuff, with no solid evidence to back it up. I've stated that Clinton has lied, with no less a supporting witness than the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, who testified under oath that Clinton lied under oath.

    Perjury = Felony

    So, you consider lying under oath to be okay, a moral issue rather than a legal one?

    If a police officer lies under oath in order to secure a conviction against someone who's definitely guilty, that's okay in your eyes? Using your standard, it's a moral issue; the officer is lying under oath to make certain that a guilty person is confirmed guilty and goes away. You can't get moral than that, right?

    Thankfully, that's not how the system works. Lying under oath, perjury, is NEVER justified, and never acceptable. But, hypothetically speaking, let's assume that lying under oath is acceptable, if it's for a moral reason or the greater good.

    Police officer lying under oath to secure a conviction of a guilty person - Moral and supports the greater good (society).

    Former Sec State and candidate for POTUS lying under oath in order to cover up illegal behavior that endangered national security - Supports only one good; her political career.

    You mention deflection below (used incorrectly, BTW), and here we have a textbook example; we're not discussing drug possession, we're discussing lying. Specifically, lying under oath.

    Which is called perjury.

    Which is a felony.

    Which is the "high crime" mentioned in "High crimes and misdemeanors" that justify impeachment.
