    Ah, yes, retention. I think I can remember how to spell psychology....

    A restart or even a transfer can take any class as a non-credit class. So, if they took Chemisty 101 twenty years ago and got a B but don't remember anything they could take it again but they would not get a grade for it. Their first grade would still be on their transcript. It might help them with Chemistry 102 though.

    I will talk to the registrar on Monday and ask if it is a requirement for SACS to see all transcripts or just what we do. I'll also find out how the grading works on "restarts", if they are truly starting over, as I understood it, or just replacing grades. If they transfer in a credit though, they cannot take the class again, so I'm not sure how that would work. They are a rare bird so it may take a bit.
