The isolation of distance learning

    I think one of the biggest hurdles in DL is the freaking LoRs needed for graduate school.

    US graduate schools seriously need to relook into that.

    Why is that a problem? I got two letters of recommendation from teachers who taught my online classes, and a third from my boss at work.

    Same. I've gotten such letters from faculty members I've never met in person. However, for those who aren't going directly from undergrad to grad school, this works best when one has kept track of former instructors, which not everyone has the presence of mind to do. It's not such a big deal when the school has permanent faculty members, but when a school is mostly adjuncts that's a bit harder.

    None of my letters were from school. All from work.
