Does someone have an idea of something that would fulfill the System Analysis and Design requirement at TESC? First off, I am sort of desperate since this is all I have left. I have considered: TESC PLA - it would be another 4 months (since I can't start till December and the class is 12 weeks. . .plus I would have to re-enroll at TESC since my time is up). ICCP System Development test - My TESC counselor said the test was expired. (Well at least the ACE-recommendation expired Dec 2001). Local Community college - Can't start till Spring semester. I trying to find something that I can do fast ASAP . . . Anyone have any ideas? . . . or am I just screwed. Dan ps - I asked the counselor to send me a list of what has qualified in the past. She refused but did say if I asked about a class, she would tell me whether it fulfilled the requirement or not.
There is a course offered at Athabasca University Systems Analysis and Design. You are given 6 months to complete the course although you are can cover the material faster if able.
Thanks, Although Athabasca University seems to require quite a few hoops before I can take just 1 class. Not that it is a big deal but it is the only school I have ever seen that needed a “letter of permission” to take a class. Hoops aside, I think I look over the message boards if anyone has done the whole Athabasca one-course-stand. Dan
Just enroll as a non-degree (undeclared major) student and then register for the course you want to take from Athabasca University - I have done the exact same thing. Forget the whole "Letter of Permission".
Yes. Proctored Examinations For international students proctor approval should be similar. Athabasca University used to be more flexible in proctor selection though with regional accreditation they seem to have limited the options somewhat. Athabasca University remains fairly traditional. Some courses, mostly in the arts and humanities, do not have any proctored exams as all evaluation is based on written course work usually essays. Computer science courses though do require a proctor or in some case there is a challenge for credit option but not for Systems Analysis and Design.
Excelsior has an online course that will fulfill the TESC requirement. It is CIS418 Software Systems Analysis and Design. However, I don't know how Excelsior handles students who only need one class. Link: CIS*418 Software Systems Analysis And Design
Excelsior College seems to permit non-matriculated students to enroll in their courses. The total course cost is about USD870.00 (760.00 course + 110 textbook).
