Someone pm'd me requesting this, and I thought I would post it on the open forum as well. It makes reference to the title of a large book I usually refer to as the huge HR bible of accreditation. Here is a response from the CA State Capitol Dept. of Personnel: -----Original Message----- From: XXXXXX XXXXXX XXXX [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, January 10, 2005 8:00 AM To: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX; Subject: Re: FW: Question regarding degree accreditation - Bachelor's Mr. XXXX, Your e-mail was forwarded to me for response. I checked our book on accredited colleges and universities. I am assuming DETC stands for Distance Education and Training Council. If it does, it is listed in our reference book, the "Accredited Institutions of Postsecondary Education Program Candidates", as a recognized accrediting body. Therefore, the State would recognize units and/or a degree from an institution accredited by DETC. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me directly.
