The Final bit of Evidence... "How do I know? Because I was, at the time, the advertisement-writer for Xerox's ad agency in New York, PKL, which had the only working Xerox prototype, outside of Rochester, of the Xerox 914 machine, which I utilized from 7 to 9 each morning for weeks (at about 3 copies per minute, when it was actually working)." http://groups.google.com/groups?q=PKL+%22John+Bear%22&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&safe=off&selm=john-0109992206560001%40caulk40.ppp.lmi.net&rnum=1 I rest my case! Just a side note, during my extensive research and posting this afternoon, I graduated to Senior Member. I guess research at a distance does pay off... John PS - now I can go answer my own poll about Sr Members!
Don't you have anything better to do with your time, John? Well done, nonetheless. "The interaction of orthographic and pictorial stimuli in producing meaning for children" indeed. In a slightly less stodgy world, it might have been called, "Do 6th graders get more information from pictures or captions?" Let me know which book you want, and where to send it. Personal delivery to Lemmon, South Dakota, if you wish, and the dog team doesn't die. John
John, Actually, this was a bit of fun, and I am angry with myself that I did not put it all together earlier. Personal delivery to Lemmon would be welcome, but there has not been a great deal of snow in northwestern South Dakota this year, so the sled will likely bog down in mud, dirt or asphalt a hundred or so miles from town. You are welcome to visit by car or plane at any time. The best way to get the book to me in the short term is by post. I would be happy to send you a pre-paid mailer. Clever writing is fun, so I would like to know more about the frog, mole and princess. Thanks! John
John Craparo: Would you send me an e-mail at [email protected]? I'd like to talk about UNISA and me. Rich
