    And the Great State of Cali will even recognised an unaccredited PsyD in order to sit for your state licensure. And San Diego University for Integral Studies is one such unaccredited PsyD.

    It was my impression that the majority of people in the SES do not have a PhD, and most SES positions do not require one.

    None require one, not even faculty positions. (Schools want to keep their options open.) The VAST majority of SES members do NOT hold doctorates, except in the professions where a first professional doctorate (like the MD or JD) is required.

    Other than a few scientific positions, I doubt a PhD makes one particularly competitive for an SES position. I think it helps in a few other areas, but only slightly. And it can hurt a lot when one is being considered by people who don't even come close to one's own education level. I shouldn't have to explain that dynamic.
