Hello. Does anybody in this forum have experience with San Diego University for Integrative Studies? All I know is that -- while non-accredited -- they do have state approval and offer licensure-track degree programs in counseling psychology. However, I would appreciate any additional feedback (positive or negative) regarding this school. Website: http://www.sduis.edu Thank you.
People choose colleges for a variety of reasons and someone might have a very good reason for choosing SDUIS. However, before doing so I'd suggest you familiarize yourself with: 1) The California Institute of Integral Studies http://www.ciis.edu 2) The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology http://www.itp.edu Both are RA alternatives to SDUIS. Good luck. Jack
MS_BLANC: What was your ultimate opinion on San Diego University for Integrative Studies? I have been looking at many somewhat similar doctorates, particularly in UK research-only doctorates, and SDUIS still interests me.
Its not accredited because its run like a business, not a school. It is set up for international students only and the standards are very, very low. The classes and level of instruction is similar to 8th grade in America. I would not recommend this school for anything. Please go somewhere where you will actually learn something. None of the graduates from SDUIS are able to find a job because its not accedited.
SOCCERMOM: Is your comment based on actual experience? Do you have examples of other students you know that have not been able to find work from this program?I am considering one of their Ph.D. programs and your comments raise some concerns. However, I'd appreciate some concrete examples if you have any. Any additional information with some details will be appreciated. Thanks.
