Gosh, Steve, there's *another* reason not to listen to Rush (other than the squealy-whiny lead vocalist, the maundering self-pity of its lyrics, and the monotony of its rhythmic line)? Zivojinovich is a nice name; Lifeson just sounds contrived and is a botched translation anyhoo.

Speaking of contrivance and botch, back to Dr Kirkland, DBA, Cal Coast University.

Reasonable people absent an angry tone have been at "the bottom of it" from the start.

 

It doesn't matter that you won't retract your accusations on the other forum, Rod. They all read it here anyway.

The first thing that stuck me about the link Dave Hayden posted was the date on the cited letter. It's unreasonable from the outset to accuse anyone of not being forward-thinking if they don't hold the same opinions they may have held 39 years ago!

Actually the reverse is closer to the truth. Considering the technological advances that have expanded delivery of accredited non-traditional education, anyone who does hold the same opinions 39 years later could more convincingly be called less than progressive-minded.

This thread represents the same sort of attacks with the same tired old accusations that have been made against John Bear since, oh, the beginning of time.

(I have no problem with our moderation team being made aware of posters violatiing our TOS, but we'd prefer that it be done through the "report this post" link rather than a new thread.)

But since the issues about John's credibilty raised have been openly addressed in John's books, here in this forum, on a.e.d, and practically every other place on the planet, I am closing this thread.

Additionally, since this is a private forum, I'm taking the opportunity to remind any poster who needs to be reminded (you should be able to figure out who you are) that the terms of service prohibit posts that attack any individual.

My personal tolerence for attacks that center on points that have been asked and answered many times is very low. So consider that if those behaviors continue, the poster(s) in question will be unceremoniously invited to post on other forums, but not here.

As for constant rehashing, commentary, rumors and innuendo posted on other discussion boards or newsgroups... well, let the mill apologists say what they wish to say on their own forum. It doens't really even deserve a response here, because the quality of the discourse here vs the other forums in question pretty much speaks for itself.
