Anyone ever heard of UOP offering the first class free? After class begins, gets call from an adivsor saying if you drop of fail, it will cost around $150.00?
When I first enrolled with UOP, they had a promotion where I got my fourth class free. I do know they offer various incentives to new students.
Re: Re: Question about U O Phoenix "A promotion"..... Sounds like they're trying to clear out last years MP3 players.
Yes, they do run student incentives from time to time...I think I got the books free for my first class or something like that.
READ WHAT YOU SIGN CAREFULLY They run promotions like that all the time, but remember, you probably have to pass the class (no W, W/F, F) to receive the credit. I am guessing it's GEN/300/101/MBA/500, which are all relatively easy classes to pass anyway. I am also sure they will have you sign something, read the document carefully. I don't know how many people I counseled that didn't understand that Financial Aid (federal, excluding PELL) is a LOAN, and they have to pay it back. I understand UOP uses salespeople and calls them enrollment advisors/counselors, but it's ultimately the student's responsibility to read what they are signing their name to. And no, I wasn't in enrollment, I was in Academics, so I always heard "after the fact" problems, which is a large part of why I don't work there anymore. Are you talking about online or on-campus? If so, which campus? If it's Northern VA I can confirm it for you because I know quite a few people that work there.
