Hi all, I'm new to this forum..but it seems to be a very useful one.. I just need to enroll in an accreditated university for a BS business management since Im working in Kuwait for almost 3 years and I need a degree but also it has to be cheap coz i will pay for it... Thanks and I hope someone could help me with the suitable university Katreena
Thanks for your reply..I think national accreditation will be much better since Im working in Kuwait and maybe soon in Lebanon.. any suggestions?? katreena
I would recommend Columbia Southern University. They have an open enrollment policy, so they're not structured on semesters. They have agreements with University of North Alabama, University of West Alabama, and Northcentral University. The University of North Alabama agreement should of special interest to you because Columbia Southern grads can take their BS in Business and become eligible to enroll at UNA in their ACBSP (considerd by many to be the gold standard in business school accreditation) MBA program. No other nationally accredited school can boast something like that. Columbia Southern University: www.columbiasouthern.edu Columbia Southern/North Alabama: www.columbiasouthern.edu/una
I would also suggest LSU (http://www.is.lsu.edu/) for as many classes as you can take. They don't offer a complete degree program but they have a ton of very inexpensive courses that will transfer anywhere. Then I would suggest a transfer to Liberty University (http://www.liberty.edu/DistanceLearning/index.cfm?PID=166) to graduate. Liberty is reasonably priced. Columbia Southern is a decent option but you should know that they are accredited by the DETC. DETC is a national accreditor that is recognized by the US Department of Education, but the DETC does not carry the same weight as the regional accreditors. I know, it seems backwards...Anyway, LSU and Liberty are both regionally accredited, the gold standard. Another option, although they don't offer a degree in business, might be Fort Hayes. They are very inexpensive and offer a complete degree program. My wife is currently doing the LSU to Fort Hayes program. Pug
As long as she's here, getting an education, someone should explain to katreena why one has nothing to do with the other.
--------------------------------------------------------- Check out Charter Oak State College which offers a BSc in business. Several members of this forum speak highly of this school. Living in SW Asia should give you material for portfolio credit. http://www.cosc.edu/DistanceLearning/index.cfm
Katreena, Regional accreditation is the standard accreditation for US colleges/universities. National accreditation is in some ways a lesser standard with less accepability. It is worth spending the time to learn the difference and to determine which schools meet which standard before enrolling.
Hi all..thanks for your reply especially concerning the accreditation in USA Now I have to look for a university which is regional accreditated and at the same time not expensive anyone can help? best regards
The least expensive route would involve "testing out" of courses and that is difficult, if not impossible, outside of the US. Are you going to be in the US? If you will be in Kuwait then will you have access to US military testing facilities? BTW - If you don't know, today is a major holiday in the US so you won't get as many replies as you normally would.
