I need to get a degree through Distance Learning, Information technology precisely, I need an accredited school with moderate fees at theshortest interval.

AIU is really expensive and they are accredited i would love a school with its brick and mortar version. Please help me out, thanks in advance.

If you need a degree in a relatively short amount of time and you want to do it cheaply you'd be wise to consider www.bain4weeks.com.

Testing is the cheapest way I know of to finish a degree in an accelerated fashion.

If you're like me, and you'd rather run screaming bloody murder as opposed to taking a test, you might be stuck with AIU or one of the other for profits that offers classes in an accelerated format.

I could be wrong, but I am personally unaware of a moderately priced accelerated degree.

    Abasrome & Oherra,

I posted on AIU just rececently & I illustrated that AIU's tuition is comparable to other private universities. The only difference being that the AIU degree can be earned in about half the time.

If you take AIU's one year time frame and compare them to another private school's two year time frame when estimating cost AIU actually balances out. For example, AIU's 13 month degree completion program is in the neighborhood of $ 21,000. All your doing is cramming two years of school into one and paying a comparable rate offered by other private institutions (that offer the same degree in two years). So, half of 21 grand, equals 10,500 dollars which is reasonable when thinking in terms of private insititutions.

Oh, and check this out: Thanks to passing two AIU challenge exams, 2 CLEPS, and some Coast Guard credit my associate degree completion equaled 4 months with the accelerated format and the price slashed to just over 7 grand. Not bad at all.

    Re: Thanks

    Yes.

This page shows what credit can be had from Excelsior college. Search, on degreeinfo.com (here), for BS/CIS and you'll find a wealth of information on that subject.

I don't disagree. I'm a happy AIU customer. They are one of the more expensive DL schools, but I really don't think they can be beat in terms of convenience. In terms of price, like any private university, they are not cheap. :)

In terms of associate degrees, I received my associate from the local state technical college for $28/credit hour + books and Georgia's HOPE funding paid all of that.
