Perhaps someone more concerned about personality and less concerned about accuracy would share your viewpoint. Good luck finding him/her.

There isn't a thing discussed on this board that you demonstrate more knowledge about, and if we stick to distance learning, you don't have a chance.

Stick to the issues, if you can.

The issue is that if a person knows 20% more than everybody else and proceeds to post 20 times more than everybody without even reading the threads they post in, that is a lot of clutter to scroll past for those who really are interested in DL and not just interested in hearing the sound of their own voice...

    Best wishes,

    Dave

    Dave,
Fair enough! :) I just feel it is a hopeless task to try and figure out what a "degree"
for hire entity had in mind when passing out PHD's. As was suggested just check Bears Guide. That should have all info you need to know! Good luck!

    Thanks,
    Dan

But the answer was so obvious, someone who's posted as much and for as long as you might be able to discern the answer, then pose further questions based upon that newly acquired knowledge, if necessary.

Asking if such an obvious mill actually had degree requirements demonstrates such a niavete that it borders on incredulous and, therefore, might make one wonder what the real purpose of the thread was.

You must certainly acknowledge that a lot of mill shilling on this board starts out with just such a thread. Hence, my comment.

It might be your issue. Why don't you keep it to yourself?

Two threads were closed recently for just this reason. You're certainly entitled to your own opinions and conclusions about anyone, but that doesn't give you the right to post about it in such an insulting fashion.

As for not reading the threads, you know this? As for posting "20 more times than anyone else," do you have similar criticisms for the many posters who actually average more posts per day than I do? And what makes you decide that I'm not interested in DL? Or is this all a substitute for a lack of reasoned discussion that is woefully lacking within you?

Again, I don't want to see another thread shut down because of these petty attacks. I'll settle for continuing to carve up every "fact" you post instead. And you can go on crying like a little girl with a skinned knee about my posting level. (But try to get the facts first, and consider going after all those others who post more than I do.)

Finally, if you knew even a little bit about DL you would know the answer to your question before asking it. Or hadn't that occurred to you?

Thanks for proving my previous point about your posting strategy.

Thanks for answering, Dan, and your suggestion. I'm traveling on business with no BG handy. This is the only place to ask such questions, but, unfortunatey, it isn't a bully-free environment.

    Best wishes,

    Dave

Rich: I just did some rather informal research on posting levels. I have so far found 20 posters with 1000+ posts, to-wit: Ian Anderson, John Bear, Jimmy Clifton, Bill Dayson, Decimon, Rich Douglas, Gregg DesElms, Bill Grover, Ted Heiks, Bill Huffman, me again, North, Nosborne, Ike Okonkwo, Anthony Pina, Janko Preotul, Randell1234, Russell, Bruce Tait, and Jack Tracey. Granted, there may be others in the 1000+ club, but those are the ones I've found. For total posts, you came in first at 6200. For posts per day, you came in third with 3.82. Janko came in second with 4.87. Most posts per day: gosh, I forget the guy's name, but pressing the profile button in the bottom left hand corner of this post might give you a big clue.

Who else exceeds your posts per day level? Just asking.

    BG15, p. 284:

University of San Moritz: This phony, also known as Harrington University, University of Palmers Green, University of Devonshire, Brentwick University, Shelbourne University, Thornehill University, Ravenhurst University, Carlingford University, Parkwood University, Kingsfield University, and Glencullen University, may be the biggest degree mill operation ever, with reported revenues in the range of $40 to $50 million a year. In 1998, these non-existent "schools" began sending unsolicited email messages saying "UNIVERSITY DIPLOMAS. Obtain a prosperous future, money earning power, and the admiration of all. Diplomas from prestigious nonaccredited universities based on your present knowledge and life experience." They seem to operate only by Internet, where an insider reports they are sending out more than one million "spam" messages a week. People who phone (the area codes have been in New York City, Ohio, New Hampshire, and Texas) and leave a message are called back, and offered the opportunity to purchase the degrees of their choice, at prices between $600 and $3,500. The mailing address is a secretarial service in England. Customers are told to wire their payment by Western Union, and it ends up in a bank in Limassol, Cyprus. A former employee reports that diplomas are printed in Jerusalem and shipped by overnight service to America and elsewhere. In addition to the fake diplomas, customers can buy transcripts, showing grades of their choice. In the beginning, they eschewed mention of accreditation, but now claim "academic recognition" from the European Council for Open and Distance Learning. Not surprisingly, we can find no trace of this accreditor's existence other than its own Web site.

    [Hope this helps!]

It was obvious to me one thay when a person with degree from Brighton University as he told us joined our company.

I without thinking twise asumed this was a graduate of diploma mill. I should have asked more questions.
Actually it was University of Brighton UK.
I changed my mind and glad I didn't say anything initially.
Some Mills like SRU sound like Regis University etc.
I learned my lesson and look for location, posible name reversal.
University of Oxford, Oxford University, California University, University of California and this is not all some schools have the same name one is legit another is mill( LaSalle)

Is there similar university with the same name that is legit?
