Hi, I know that PIU is not accredited. Does anyone have any information beyond that fact about their history, president, faculty, connections, etc....? Pacific International University
Here's a very unflattering account of "Dr." Carl Baugh's academic credentials. Baugh is a prominent "scientific" creationist, and a close associate of Clifford Wilson, the founder of Pacific International University (among other ventures). The permutations of PIU are discussed at seme length. http://members.aol.com/Paluxy2/degrees.htm Here's Baugh's version, taken off his creation science museum's website. http://home.texoma.net/~linesden/cem/diss/acred.htm
What a joke. Do creationists think this sort of thing impresses anybody, anywhere? (If I were not a creationist, I wouldn't even bother asking.) My group's isolationism sometimes gets overdone, but at least we don't associate with hoolerei like this.
All you need to know is this (taken from their accreditation page): "Our own conviction is that the standard of our courses and the quality of our graduates (many of whom are now in world-wide Christian leadership) are at least as important as any form of "accreditation". You now have the answer to all your questions.
