Outsourcing online adjuncts to other countries

    I guess I'm harder to frighten, then. People think of accreditors as some sort of dictatorial overlords, but that's not the case, and rightly so. I've observed accreditation renewals, and what they really seem to care about is that the institution is financially stable and that it has established processes in place. It's more about good record keeping than anything else.

    That's not to say there aren't standards for things like academic qualifications for faculty members, because there are. But so long as those are met, why should the accreditor care about how much the faculty members are paid, or where they come from? That's AAUP's job.

  3. You are right, I always thought that was the case. I'm learning that their control is not as tight as I once thought. I still find it hard to believe that they would allow an institution to use cheap, foreign labor to teach accredited classes. But, like Dave said, the book of what I don't know is very much larger than the book of what I do. Sometimes I find that I have misplaced that smaller book anyway. :)
