All my USA college credits, both UG and G, (except for one CLEP), were earned at traditional colleges - only about 20% were as you said, not 80%. Most were based on homework, papers, presentations, and class participation.
(Most of my US UG courses were general ed courses to supplement my UK engineering courses so I could earn my BS degree from Excelsior)

My UK college experience was that all my courses were graded on closed book exams only (one exam per subject at the end of a 9-month term).

20% is rare for a traditional school. I have had about 60%. I always assign 10% to homework and 10% to class participation. The rest are assigned to closed book quiz, tests, and exam.

What else can you do with an English degree!? Glad to see someone making a few bucks. The student should be chucked out on their a**, but only after paying the ghost writer.

Really, who cares. Schools are so overpriced and full of themselves anyway. Is it even plagiarism anymore, or is it good management and entrepreneurialism , outsourcing the work to someone better qualified?
