I am looking to get my Associates or Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering. Are there any accredited schools out there that offer this degree?
I would like to find a regionally accredited school.
So far I have only been able to find Penn Foster College who offers an Associates Degree in Industrial Engineering Technology.
Also they are only Nationally Accredited.
Any ideas on other schools that offer this degree????????????
    Thanks,

Besides RA vs. NA, there are two other distinctions that should be kept in mind:

ABET vs. Non-ABET Degrees: The "gold standard" for engineering and technology degrees is ABET accreditation, not regional accreditation. Unfortunately, ABET-accredited distance programs are rare, because of the rigorous lab requirements. I would suspect that most (or all) of the distance programs listed above lack ABET accreditation.

Engineering vs. Technology Degrees: People commonly confuse "engineering" and "engineering technology" degrees, but they are legally and professionally distinct. I would suspect that most (or all) of the distance programs listed above are "technology" degrees, as is the Penn Foster degree. True "engineering" degrees are only offered at the Bachelor's level or above, while "technology" degrees are offered at both the Associate's and Bachelor's levels.

A non-ABET technology degree may have some market value, but don't expect it to be as valuable as an ABET engineering degree.

You could also expand your search to include Systems Engineering and Operations Research. These degrees are similar to IE.

Ted, I couldn't find any DL offering in engineering by the University of Pretoria. Are you sure they have programs on a distance learning basis?
