Hi All, I need your help badly. My elder sister will be giving birth to a baby girl in few day time, and has ask me to come up with a name for her first child, but i can't seem to think of names that are unique (not commonly used by all). So can anyone help me come up with some nice name for my sister newborn baby girl? will be really appreciate if all big brothers and sisters here can help. Thanks! Kozen
newborn baby needs a name Oh ya...one thing to add. Please give me some nice name that starts with M or R Thanks Kozen
Re: newborn baby needs a name Thanks for your help. Anyone out there still have any nice names to share? Kozen
Rhiannon Morag Meriel Morwenna Angela -- I'm not going to suggest my middle name of Marie since 36 years and counting of telling people how to spell or pronounce it are beginning to tell on me!
Miserie? Miniseries? Metastasis? Malaria? Mudflap? Methamphetamine? Fortunately MY daughters were all named by their MOTHER!
Why is it that a serious and honest post has to disintegrate into such childishness? How 'bout Manny Ramirez?
Snigger. At least Morwenna reads like it sounds and vice versa! Infinitely preferable to an anglicised spelling of an Irish name that everybody thinks should be pronounced as French ;-) Angela
Names Here is what I would do...I would combine the M and R.....the perfect middle name is "Rose" (in my opinion that is...) So you could have any combination of the following Madeline Rose Margaret Rose Monica Rose Mary Rose Maria Rose or you could always go with the combinations of Mary Katherine/Mary Margaret etc. etc. My girls names are: Savannah Lee Annabelle Brooke Charlotte Anne If we had another girl she would be named either Anne-Marie or Mary Margaret However one of my favorite names is Emmaline or Emma but my dh isn't big on that name. I would definitely have an Emmaline though if he agreed to the name! It was a girl, right? Hope so!
How about: Mephistophelesa or perhaps Riannietzche Let the people she meets try and spell one of these names. She can always tell them; "It isn't spelled exactly-as-it-sounds."
To the forum: Sorry everyone! I just realize that the humor had an unintentional religious connotation, and might offend someone. To the person asking for suggested names: I always liked the name Monique.
OK, well a first name should fit well with that last name and as we don't know the last name in this case it's a bit of a shot in the dark. My official entry is Miranda . I'm guessing that in Singapore (that's where the kiddo is living, right?) this would be at least a little bit uncommon. Also, it seems to be a name that was invented by William Shakespeare. That's a nice touch, as far as I'm concerned. In any case, I hope that the delivery goes well and that everyone is happy and healthy. Let us know the final decision. Jack
So... wait... are you saying that, among the names you're offered, you'd like some that begin with "M" and "R;" or are you saying that the only names in which you're interested will begin with "M" or "R?" Let's hope it's the former; and, if so... Everyone's screwing around and having fun, I realize (and that's okay, by the way), but I'd like to make just one, serious contribution: Amelia which, I suppose, could be shortened to "Amy," when informality is desired. I like it because it traces its roots to the same word that underlies the word "ameliorate," which means to make better or to improve... and is among my favorite words in the English language both because of its meaning, and because of the way it rolls off the tongue. It's hard to argue with a child's name having a well-meaning sentiment behind it like making things better. Just my $.02 worth... which, my ex-wife is quick to remind, is usually all it's worth.
