    Fortunato,

You may be right. I've just looked at the LSU courses again and there could be some duplication. I think I might have to clarify with LSU on that because strictly speaking, the certificate is not exactly an undergrad cert as you do need to meet intermediate and advanced courses prerequisite.

When I started the thread, I have the exact same thinking as your friend. Anything that will get me to 150. Unfortunately, I'm not currently enrolled in any college and even local community colleges are rather expensive for me since I don't meet the resident status requirement. Could you share how your friend gets her 150 hours?

I did a search in the forum and found this Clovis Community College that offers affordable online courses. It seems that I could do 30 credit hours for around $1500, which is great if this is really possible. Still checking though.

She took random lower-level courses at the local state university and 1 or 2 CLEP tests. She sent the scores to the school where she was taking classes and they transcripted the credit for her without a problem.

If you can self-study, CLEP and/or DSST exams are almost certainly the cheapest way to the additional hours. As has been suggested, you could use Excelsior or TESC's credit banking services to transcript the credit, or see if your undergraduate school will accept the exams and transcript them for you.

    Best of luck!
