Does anyone have any information about admission standards at CVN? I am wondering if the admission standards are the same throughout different programs or if they vary? (i.e. more difficult to be accepted into M.S. in Mechanical vs. Biomedical, etc) I am interested in the M.S. in Biomedical and I am trying to guage if I would be considered competitive or just wasting my time. I have a B.S. in biochemistry from a public university (low/mediocre GPA, 3.2). I have a M.S. in Chemistry from same university (GPA, 3.8). Soft factors are good (excellent LORs, publications, 4 yrs experience as materials chemist). I should probably mention that I have not taken differential equations. Is it common for students from physical/natural sciences departments to be accepted into graduate programs in engineering at CVN or is this very rare? Can anyone advise? Thanks for any information!
I would have to agree with TEKMAN. My business partner got into engineering with a biology deg and no masters. Shouldn't be a problem for you.
Thanks for the comments. These make me feel a little better. I was wondering if anyone knew about scores for students accepted into Columbia's distance learning (CVN) or acceptance rates. I noticed that the general requirement was 3.0 but I had wondered if the average accepted scores were much higher. Thanks again,
