The LSU decided to increase fees by 10% and add Academic Excellence Fee and Operational Fee. So a 3 credit course will cost $364, beginning October 9. LSU Independent and Distance Learning You still have time to sign up by October 8 and get an old fee LSU Independent and Distance Learning
Thanks. I guess I should quickly decide if I need any of these. That's a pretty big increase. In fact, after that, the IS courses from UWyo will be less expensive.
Looks like U Wyoming will still be more expensive (at least the online courses) at $402 per 3 credit course.
Thanks for the info. Oh well. Looks like this is going to wind up costing me an extra $700-$800 for the accounting certificate. Not great, but still the best deal around for me, if I want to be able to sit for the CPA exam late next year.
So, what exactly is the "academic excellence fee" and "operational fee" supposed to cover? Am I the only one who gets tired of seeing these arbitrary fees? I mean, if schools want more money, why don't they just increase tuition and be done with it? There are a lot of schools that are guilty of tacking on arbitrary-sounding fees, but why insult people's intelligence if obtaining more money is the goal?
This is a sad development. The independent study courses from Sam Houston State University and the Independent Study in idaho Consortium are now officially more affordable than LSU.
Ah, OK. I have to say, though, that the selection for independent study at Wyoming is nowhere near as broad as it is at LSU, although the selection of math courses is pretty good.
Yeah. In fact, it looks like I will have to take a few courses that I don't really want to, just to be able to use some toward my degree. Eh well, time is money and money is money
