Talked to 7 people and no one knows.....hmmm

I think once they launch more online programs it would become less of an issue. I even talked to a dean and he had no idea they even had any online course at LSU.

It's a very obscure section of LSU so that doesn't surprise me at all. If you guys read the link I posted yesterday you'll see they are considering adding full online programs plus more courses. I've always wondered why they've been behind on the DL curve, but hopefully that will change soon.

I haven't checked across the board but it seems like the correspondence courses offered are light at the upper levels so I'm not sure you could use these courses to complete a degree. Of course, if you just needed general ed courses then it may be possible.

I'd also add that the original reason I started looking at these courses is that the alternative route to math teacher certification (K - 12) requires 18 credits (for middle school) and 24 credits (for hs). So if you already have a Bachelors degree then that's another type of use for these courses without an actual awarded degree.

They offer a lot of 3000 and 4000 level courses at LSU.

Yes, I'm sure they do. However, in the few areas that I've checked (I already said that I didn't check all areas) it has been my impression that they do not offer a sufficient number of upper level courses within one specific subject area to allow someone to finish a degree program based solely upon those LSU DL courses. For example, if I had an Associates degree and wanted to complete my Bachelors degree in Math, I do not believe that LSU offers a sufficient number of upper division math courses to accomplish that goal. I may be wrong.

That's absolutely correct as fas as math goes, and probably just about every other possible major as well (including business).
