Thinking of getting my Masters in History at Louisiana-Monroe. Being a B & M school, does anyone know if their degree (diploma) specifies if you have taken it online or not? They have a GOLD program that houses all of their online programs and I just want to make sure that this does not set a distinction on diplomas/transcripts. Thanks
No personal experience with this particular school, but in general I've found (and I think this is consistent with others on this board) that schools do not make such a distinction on diploma/transcripts. But I'm sure a quick email or phone call could probably clear it up for you. After all, since you're considering giving them several thousand dollars of your money you want to be sure you're getting what you want before you buy.
As fantastic as this board might be, we don't have members from every program on the planet. It might be best to ask the school itself.
To date all I have is a Cert.HE from a British uni, a regular off line uni offering some distance programmes, anyway the Certificate didn't say Distance but the transcripts do. Not sure about the US.
I have one bachelors, three masters and a Ph.D. from distance learning. Neither school distinguished on the diploma or transcript that they were earned via "Distance Learning." But, during the time I earned the degrees I did not live in, or even within driving distance, of either of the cities where the schools are located. Given this, it is not hard to determine that I earned the degree through distance learning.
