Hello! I'm currently attending TESC. I am coming close to completing my degree in BSAST. There are a couple of courses TESC doesn't offer, but require to complete my degree. I was wondering if anyone out there knows what college covers the following courses. I know some colleges require you to complete a certain amount of Semester hours before transferring. I rather not spend more time completing courses I don't need then I have to. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! Sam Digital Electronics Drafting/Graphics
I am curious - they offer a BSAST but not some of the courses required to complete the degree? A quick search located this: http://www.tesc.edu/course.php?CourseCode=ELD-201&sem= and what about Engineering Graphics: GRA-251 ?
I know crazy huh? I was told they are more like a finishing college. So I would have to transfer some credits in to complete the degree. The offer Digital Electronics as a PLA but I don't have any experience in that field to do a PLA. I'm not sure if Engineering Graphics is the same thing, but I'll bring it up. Where do you see this course?
Sam, take a look at this thread to help you with your search: Search Terms Most colleges will allow you to take a limited number of classes as a non matriculated student. Do you have a price range for the classes you seek?
I am in the military. Per fiscal year they allow a max of $4500 and no more than 15 credits. So that's my limit.
If you're in the military, have you considered correspondence courses? If you're in the Navy or Marine Corps, they definitely have self-study courses in digital electronics which are ACE-approved for credit; I took one myself years ago. I believe they are open to all branches, but I'm sure the AF and Army have something similar. You may even find something for your other requirement; there are many courses. Check out NKO (Navy/Marine) or AKO (Army). Good luck!
I've done probably close to 100 of those many through NKO. To my surprise TESC doesn't count any of them.
A school that is military friend and perhaps starts every month would be great. Does anyone know any schools off hand that don't require a certain amount of credits to be completed before transferring your sh to another school?
Were any of them ACE accredited? If they were, that is very unfortunate. I got credit for a MCI course titled "The Fundamentals of Digital Logic" towards my B.S. degree. Here is a link to the ACE page about it: http://www.militaryguides.acenet.edu/ShowAceCourses.asp?aceid=MC-1715-0184 If you use that same site, you can search for military courses in all branches by keyword, and if it's in there it is ACE approved for credit. I can't see why TESC wouldn't transfer them; but I guess it is just a recommendation and not a requirement...
I see what you're saying. The only military training TESC took was the ones I got from a actual class room setting. Whether it was from "A" School or leadership development course. Other then that they didn't take credit for my other activities. I don't think a lot of courses through the Navy have been evaluated for credits. Some of these schools on the site you listed are only job related. The Navy isn't going to spend money to send you somewhere for a job that's not related. I'm in the Electrical field so TESC did take quite a few. But electronics is a part of completing the degree which isn't part of my job in the Navy.
