Janko, Gus, and Mark Win!

Just start reporting these nasty attacks to the moderators. Each thread has a little link that you can click on to report such nonsense. I would like to see a stop put to this too. I really hate to see Jimmy go. I enjoyed reading his posts.

You can do whatever you like. However, your perspective is interesting and although I really disagree with you theologically I welcome your contributions. It would be a shame to have you just quit posting.

I may not be impressed by your past associations and you apparently say you have repented and want to put that behind you. That is fine with me.

I have not followed all of the sniping as it frankly disinterests me. There are many people here whose contributions I find valuable but who from time to time are over the top. Janko is one of them. I appreciate the fact that he is very bright and has made good contributions. Someone else pointed out he has a tendency to become vicious and foul (I sense almost bitter at times). I am sad when that happens and just try to ignore it.

As I say, you can make your own choice but why let folks chase you away. All of them have issues in their past...we just do not know about them.

Seriously, I admit to not reading every thread. I do have a job and a life outside of this board, so my moderator time is somewhat limited. I rely heavily on people reporting objectionable posts, and I think I've responded appropriately when things are brought to my attention.

BTW....when I say "I" and "me", I want to make it clear that I don't speak for Bill Gossett & Chip, the other moderators. They have their own unique situations, and can explain them if they so choose.

 

Nope, I still remember. However, the meanness for the most part was not going on here when I was a moderator. The board has clearly changed in the last several months. Not for the better, in my opinion.

Part of that seems traceable to the number of overall posts that now seem to emanate from the off-topic forum. This board is increasingly less about distance learning and more about personalities.

Perhaps the job is too big for three people. You might considering recruiting additional moderators.

I don't know how long ago hat was. I've been a member for only 4 or 5 months and the meanness has been awful. It's really quite sad, distracting, and annoying.

7-- I'm sorry to see Craig go. Though we disagree at times (remember Walston's dissertation , Craig? Course there most everyone disagreed with me) I always appreciated Craig.

6-- I think Craig is saying that Bethany from which Jimmy got the PhD is getting NA by AABC? Is that right or is that wrong? Dunno! Lots of confusing issues in DL, aren't there? Actually Jimmy also has a UA PsyD and a UA DSW too doesn't he? IMO, its quite possible for even intelligent, mature individuals to need some things clarified. If it were not, what need of a Bear or a Walston or a Baker or a Levicoff? So, there would be a place for Janko's input re DL IMO too.

5--Yes, Jimmy practically always has been kind to me. I do genuinely appreciate that.

He also has been kind, as I understand it, to those who seek lots of phony doctorates. An example of this will be found by searching here for "Trudy." Trudy has five such phony docs. It appears Jimmy helped her achieve her fine goal.

He also is presently kind in his defense of schools of low quality like Andersonville where one can earn a ThD with much less effort than normal.

Jimmy was also kind to Bethany by running their discussion forum and writing a curriculum without apparently, letting Shuemake know that he substantially disavowed the creedal positions required for those who perform such services. A search here for "Bethany" will indicate that.

Jimmy also is kind in his defense of GSST which allows doc dissertations written at undergrad level. A search here for GSST will locate that thread. And who was it who exposed that dissertation, umm, Janko.

Jimmy has also been kind to DI readers because for the most part he has not defamed Janko here but elsewhere.

4--Well, as I say Craig, there really is IMO lots of misrepresentation about DL that I think requires someone like Janko to expose some of it.

3-- I think this is somewhat overstated. I wouldn't deny that Unk tries to humiliate Jimmy. But I don't think that means that Janko also is not trying to establish truth.

2-- Yes. But I don't think legality is the whole issue re DL, is it?

1-- Well I think Janko has said some of these. Janko says that Jimmy here has called him names. Janko says that elsewhere Jimmy maligns him. Janko gives his references.

I do appreciate some of Jimmy's posting. And I do think TTS will get RA, and I do think that is a wise choice for Jimmy.

Does Unk carry on too violent and persistent of an attack? Well maybe, but is it more than regularly goes on, eg, between Rich and Neil over Rich's dissertation and Neil's doc?

Nevertheless, as I need some blessing, on this Easter Day, I will join the peacemakers and say let's call a truce.

Agreed, and not just for Easter, but from this point foward, forever. But then again it's not up to us to call the truce. It's up to Uncle Janko and friends, and Jimmy...or the moderaters could force a truce.

Let me guess, you're the voice of reason. Collegehints is a tightly moderated board, no-one is allowed to be an asshole.

I like all the Bible Boys and have to stand back when they fight.

That is simply not true. Collegehints posters are allowed to act like assholes, as long as they don't criticize DETC, CCU, Kinghtsbridge, or a handful of other favorite entities. Anyone who does so is far game for personal insults, insinuations, accusations, and epithets.

If it isn't tightly moderated, then how did you manage to get banned twice?
