There is a new MIGS type of University online. I don't know if it has a link with the old MIGS but Spenta University claims to be an online mexican university that grants degrees online at the PhD and MBA level. No indication about accreditation and it is using a non conventional domain name for a mexican university. Any ideas? http://spentaven.org/SpentaUniversityMexico.htm
This is worst than I thought, Spenta is a mexican university that claims california state approval. "Our institution grants postgraduate titles under the educational code of the State of California Section 94330(n). SPENTA offers a Master in Administration by Values in both the On-line mode and the face-to-face mode. The program is interactive, demanding and strict. It is oriented to prepare the participants for fast and competitive global markets and for the challenges that have to be met to succeed as professionals in the 21st Century. " How is possible that a mexican Univesity can grant degrees based on a californian license?
Let's hope after one graduates he/she doesn't end up saying, "Spenta lotta money on a wortheless degree."
This is new for this outfit. It began in Venezuela as an attempt to provide Zoroastrian DL (hence the name). They seem to have dropped the religious stuff entirely, apart from the sacred fire emblem.
Re: Re: is MIGS coming back as SPENTA University? The California Education Code sections governing private postsecondary institutions begin at 94700. http://www.bppve.ca.gov/reform_act/index.html I couldn't find any record of a Spenta University using the BPPVE's search function.
The url and website are totally different from what I had seen before. Is this Mexico thing an illegitimate spinoff? Maybe... This is the link to the Zoroastrian school offering theological instruction: http://www.spenta.edu/spenta_program/Spenta_Graduate_School/spenta_graduate_school.html
If you go to the international link on the above school, it will take you to the school that started this thread--looks like a one-man operation. The scholars at the "original" SU are fairly distinguished, so somebody there ought to clear this situation up.
Let me see if I understand. A religious school granting PhD and MBA business degrees under a californian religious institution license in Mexico that is a spin off of a venezuelan campus of the original Spenta university. A copy cat of the trinity university scam of a university registered in delaware US but granting degrees with a spanish school license. What is next? A pet school in California granting PhD degrees in business in India under the pet's school license?
OK, I did my interfaith brotherhood bit. Now that that's out of the way, if this MBA racket has any actual connection to SU, I hope they "fire" the Venezuelan and that everyone is too Parsi-monious to waste money on such a fekokteh MBA program. The whole thing sounds utterly Ahrimaniacal to me, but whaddoiknow?
